There is only good news this weekfrom Club Penguin! Where should I start from?

Dance Contest

The member-only dance party has come to an end (it was brilliant wasn’t it?!) BUT CP decided that the Dance Contest game was so good that they have kept it AND everybody can play it! The only thing that is for members-only is the multi-player play option – I think that is a great idea!

The DJ3K game is only still running – a very easy way to get coins.

Member Badge

Speaking of members…Club Penguin have added a badge to your player card if you happen to be one – the badge looks like the picture on the left and I guess it’s to show other penguins who is a member and who isn’t.

I think it looks pretty cool.

And…CP have also announced that they wil make it visible to other penguins so I guess it will show on you chest as you waddle around the island?

Catalogues

There are two new catalogues on the way!

On January 30th there will be a new Snow and Sports catalogue and…on February 6th there will a new clothing catalogue – and CP says that new clothes will be awesome.

New login page

Have you noticed that CP have changed the login page? It the second new style of login that I have noticed in the last few weeks – I wonder if they are trying different versions?

It does look like they are trying to get more members to sign-up!

Waddle on!

Rockhopper is back from his latest voyage. This means of course that we get to play the treasure game in his ship.

Remember that you need to get the key to the Captain’s Quarters to get access to the treasure game room – for a reminder how to click here to read an old post about it.

Also, don’t forget to donate to the Coins for the Change program – the collecting points are at the Plaza, the beach and in the Migrator’s hold (downstairs).

Waddle on!

The new game for penguins who want to become Ninjas has arrived at the Dojo!

This is what the Dojo looks like now:

I have highlighted the important bits to get you started:

First go and speak to Sensei – he’s the old penguin with the straw hat on, at the top right of the picture on the green mat. Talk to him and collect your set of cards:

You can carry on talking to him if you want or ask him more about the rules (you have to click on the bubble to read the next bit).

But if you want to start playing immediately here’s how you do it.

- If you’re still talking to Sensei tell him you want to play or go to one of the mats on the floor and wait for someone to join you.

Once a game has started the two players will be in front of each other and they will bow.

- Then your cards will be shown at the bottom of the screen. You have to choose a card and wait for the other penguin to choose one.

You win the round if one of these things happens:

- your card is fire and the other card is ice (because fires melts ice)

- your card is water and the other card is fire (because water puts out fire)

- your card is ice and the other card is water (because ice freezes water)

- both cards are the same type but you have a higher number on the card

Hint: if both cards are exactly the same then no-one wins the round and you can carry on.

To win the game you have to either get:

three of the same card type and of different colour backgrounds:

or

one of each type and of different colour backgrounds (a type means either water, ice or fire)

As you win games you will earn belts of different colour. I have the white belt so far and you can go right up to black eventually:

If you feel really courageous you can play against Sensei himself – but beware he is a very difficult opponent!! [to play him to go and see him and click on sensei mode]

Important: if you get the black belt you then have to play against Sensei and win him to become a Ninja!

Wow! The Dojo is looking really cool now!

All Penguins wereinvited to the grand re-opening with a message in this week’s newspaper.

The screen shot on the left also mentions the new card game that is coming out on Monday 17th!

(why Monday and not Friday, Saturday or Sunday heh?)

For those of you new to CP the Dojo can only be reached by clicking on the map on the bottom left of the island and the clciking on the Dojo at the top of the mountain. It looks like this:

And when you get there it looks like this, as you can see it is very busy!

Every so often the gong appears and you can throw snow balls at it!

The other thing to watch out for are the fire, water and ice signs that are all over the Dojo – I wonder if they have anything to do with the new game?

And finally, there’s a free item to be collected – a pair of Japanese Geta Sandals. To get them got to the front of the Dojo and help yourself from the box:

Enjo!

The Dojo needs your help! Construction is currently underway after the big storm blew through during the Halloween Party. There’s talk that it’ll be fixed within the next few weeks. Be sure to climb the ladder, too–we’re excited to hear what you think about what you find.

If you don’t already have one, grab a construction hat so you can help out!!

The only way to get to The Dojo is by clicking on your map and finding it on the mountain range.

During the Club Penguin Games you can cheer for either the red or blue team.

The red team face paint is in the Coffee Shop:

If you wave (W key on keyboard) when you have nothing else on you get to hold up a sign saying “go red”. Or if you really have to you can always support blue…in the pizza parlour:

And if you are a member you can go down to the football field at the Snow Fort:

You can kick the ball around but there are no hidden items.

Then what you need…is a ship igloo of course!!

if you are member go to your igloo and click on the new igloo catalogue to get…:

How cool is that?

On the other hand, if you feel like getting fit there is always the gym igloo to go for…:

Of course if you are going to buy the ship igloo you will need some rockhopper furniture to go with it. So, while Rockhopper is on the island, waddle down the beach, board the migrator, go down the hatch and click on the catalgue on the bottom right.

While you there you might want to go into the Captain’s Quarters (you will need the key) and play a game of treasure hunt.

They fixed since it was broken a few days ago. Here are some before and after picture and a screenshot of what the game looks like:

The music jam is so successful that CP have decided to extend it to Tuesday 5th August 2008.

These are some of things you can get up to during the party:

The Band

You can play along with the Club Penguin Band – grab (buy) yourself an instrument and join them on stage, like we did at the Iceberg:

When the band is not playing they are normally relaxing back stage at the dock:

To get in you will need to buy a backstage pass from the shop at the cove:

then go back to the dock stage and waddle on towards the VIP entrance at the back – the security penguin will let you in – you will have to be a member to do this so if you’re not this is what backstage looks like:

On the left of the back stage room there’s a chest full of instruments for sale. Once you buy any of these you can use them to play them on stage – for example buy the drum sticks and find yourself on a drum kit on any of the stage – then click “D” to start playing the drums!

There is also a hidden item! Click on the dot above the letter “I” of Music Catalogue to buy the red electirc guitar!

In other news:

The Green Puffle is back in the Night Club

Club penguin are getting ready for a music jam that will start on Friday 25th July – there will be bands playing all over the island and there are rumours that the DJ in the Night Club will be joining in! In fact, he’s warming up as I write!

You can join in by visiting your igloo and trying out some of the tunes that are available on the juke box or stereo (you have to be a member to buy them).

or you can waddle on to the pool to get a music related pin:

Hint: to reach the pool go to the mine and turn left into the tunnel

The last music-related piece of news I need to pass on is that there will be a new game in the nightclub, it’s currently under construction and CP sayit has something to do with the Jam. Can’t wait!

Loads of new features were activated on Club Penguin recently – - you can see why they had to delay their arrival as it must have been very complicated to do them all:

New login

Wehn you login now CP will give you a list of servers that it thinks are best for you – so you can’t choose US, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom anymore

Instead you get a screen like this one:

If you want you can click on “more servers” to see to the full list and pick the one you prefer.

New e-mail System

The biggest change is that you get an envelope next to the newspaper – it is always there now – and when you click on it you get the new email screen:

You now can have as many buddies as you like and keep up to 100 postcards that you receive!

The very fist postcard you get is from CP – when you click on the blue bag you can grab a free item: a blue mailbag:

Player Card

The player card now has a way of showing all your items in different categories – click on the tab at the botttom as shown in the picture below:

Secret Agent Radio

Now you can access your secret agent radio from any room as it is always above the map:

Igloo changes

- New igloo background:

All igloos have been moved to the forest so you get a new backgroun – I wonder if they will let us change the background in the future?

When you have finished editing your igloo you need to click on the picture of disk to save the changes:

Hockey Puffle :

The dancing Green puffle has moved out of the Night Club and can be found at the Ice Rink – it  plays with the hockey puck, Its pretty cool.I suspect CP might move him to other places too so keep an eye out for that!
